Giovanni Costantino of The Italian Sea Group pointed out that the crew should have taken specific safety measures once bad weather was detected, such as securing the hull, closing doors and hatches, and directing guests to the ship’s assembly point.

Costantino expressed disappointment over the sinking of the Bayesian, emphasizing that vessels like it are designed to be extremely safe and nearly unsinkable due to their structural features. The Bayesian, constructed in 2008 by Perini Navi and later acquired by The Italian Sea Group in 2021, was expected to withstand challenging conditions.
