Most big UK technology retailers are taking part, including Amazon, John Lewis, Argos, Currys, AO and Very. And it’s no longer just one day – there’s a whole Black Friday week, if not more.
We know that prices, across the board, feel more expensive than ever at the moment. That’s why we’re here to cut through the noise with our curated list that highlights only the best tech products and the most significant discounts across UK retailers.
What is Black Friday?
Black Friday, held the day after Thanksgiving in the US, has become the UK’s largest shopping event since Amazon introduced it in 2010. Discounts are generally at least 20% across most categories, with offers typically lasting through to Cyber Monday (Monday, 2 December 2024).
When do Black Friday deals start in the UK?
While Black Friday is officially on 29 November, many retailers kick off their sales earlier, with deals beginning as early as mid-November.
How long does Black Friday last in the UK?
Black Friday has evolved into a weekend event with deals starting up to a week before, ending with Cyber Monday on 2 December 2024. In our experience covering the event for the last six years, most deals remain available until stock runs out.
What date is Black Friday in shops?
The best in-store deals will be available on Friday, 29 November, continuing through the weekend. In-store shopping can be hectic, so we recommend online ordering and either picking up your deals or having them delivered.
Where is the best place to shop for Black Friday tech?
Unlike Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday involves a wide range of UK stores, both high street and online. Aside from tech, you can expect deals across kitchenware, fashion, furniture, beauty, and more.

It also features USB-C charging, and enhanced front and rear cameras, making it a versatile and capable device. It’s our top recommendation for those after their first-ever iPad.
Black Friday shopping tips
While Black Friday deals run throughout November, the best discounts usually appear during the official sale weekend. One thing to watch out for, though, is that some items may look discounted only because prices were raised earlier in the month.
It’s worth checking price comparison sites like PriceSpy, and we double-check prices before recommending any deals. For Amazon, we recommend checking the price history using CamelCamelCamel.
At Good Housekeeping, we’re committed to ensuring the offers we highlight are genuinely good deals, and that’s why we have teams scouring the web for legitimate discounts.
Here are five great tips on how to shop safely this year:
Stay informed
Know the best price
Get in early
Protect yourself from scams
Choose quality over quantity
Remember, you’re only saving money if you were already planning to buy the product that’s on offer. If you weren’t planning to buy it, it’s not a saving. For more buying advice for the upcoming sales, look at our Black Friday tips for savvy shoppers.
