Live casino developer Evolution announces that the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has launched an investigation into its holding company in Malta for identifying gambling in the UK by operators without a UKGC license. This is stated in a press release.

According to Evolution, there could be several outcomes from the investigation, including no action required to being financially sanctioned or having its license revoked.

“Evolution embraces the objectives of the Commission’s review. We are committed to supporting the licensed UK market and preventing unlicensed traffic. We are now taking strong action using all technical tools available to us to ensure that our games are only available in the UK through UKGC licensed operators”, said CEO Martin Carlesund and continued.

“We believe that working closely together to address our common concerns will lead to faster and better results. As always, we remain committed to an open and transparent relationship with our regulators”.

Mr. Carlesund also commented on the survey to Bloomberg News, saying he did not want to speculate on the risk associated with it, or what its eventual conclusion might be.

The UK market accounts for about three percent of Evolution’s revenue.
