British Open 2024: Early Predictions for Top Prize Money

Jordan Spieth does not come to mind when you talk about the current best options to win a men’s golf major tournament.

Spieth last won a major in 2017 and he has not finished inside the top 10 in his last six major appearances.

However, he has found success at recent British Opens and that makes him a dark-horse contender for this week’s event at Royal Troon.

The overall Open Championship success of Spieth and a few others over the last few years could make them contenders that are currently off the radar.

Of course, the likes of Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy will be popular picks for the $3.1 million winners’ purse, but as we learned last year with Brian Harman, long shots have a chance as well.
