Coleen Rooney is ‘on board’ to appear on the upcoming season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The former TV star, 38, was previously best known for her relationship with former England player Wayne Rooney before becoming embroiled in the infamous Wagatha Christie saga and legal battle with fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy a few years ago.

She’s already fronted documentaries about the scandal, but Coleen is now set to be flying to Australia next month to join the ITV reality series as a campmate.

It’s been reported that Coleen has secured the biggest deal in the show’s history, with her fee understood to trump Nigel Farage’s £1.5million last year.

‘I’m A Celeb bosses have pulled off a huge coup getting Coleen for the jungle this year and the team are thrilled to have her on board,’ a source said.

Coleen was subsequently pictured at a petrol station, putting some of her reportedly massive paycheck to good use… filling up her Mercedes SUV.

Dressed in a black sweater and leggings with a pair of slip-on shoes, the star filled up her Mercedes SUV with £72 worth of fuel. She was pictured with a purse full of cash and a bulky paper bag filled with goodies from M&S.

This comes amid reports that ITV are thrilled to have bagged such a big name in Coleen.

‘She’s always been a massive fan of the show and loves watching it with her boys. ITV are over the moon that the stars have aligned this year and she can fit it in. The series is set to be one of the best yet,’ an ITV source continued to The Sun.

‘Coleen has a huge fanbase and she won massive plaudits for her classy handling of the Wagatha Christie case. She’s excited to show fans a different side to her and prove she can survive without her creature comforts,’ they added.

They went on to share that the campfire chats could spark ‘bombshells’ if she spoke about the ‘drama of the Wagatha trial to her turbulent marriage to Wayne and his football career’.

The source also said Coleen was ‘expected to be very popular with viewers and she could triumph over Becky again if she goes further in the competition than her’.

ITV bosses are reportedly hoping Coleen will share details of her private life with husband Wayne, as well as her explosive fall out with Rebekah, who appeared on the show in 2017 but was sent packing third.

However, an ITV spokesperson told Metro: ‘Any names suggested for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! are just speculation.’

The news comes a few days after Rebekah was ordered to pay Rooney a further £100,000 after she lost her High Court claim against Rooney in 2022.

The case was sparked by Coleen accusing Rebekah of leaking her private information to the press on social media, with the latter later ordered to pay 90% of Rooney’s fees, with an initial payment of £800,000.

However, this week senior costs judge Andrew Gordon-Saker ordered Rebekah to pay a further £100,000 to Coleen within 21 days.

Last year, Coleen and Wayne released their debut documentary series titled Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story which followed the High Court battle on Disney Plus.

Speaking last year Coleen said although she had moved on, she accepted the case was ‘always going to be talked about’ and was ‘part of my life’.

In 2016 she revealed she’d regularly turned down reality TV show offers, but would be open to I’m A Celebrity.

‘I get asked all of the time, but I always say no. Reality shows like that are massive, they ask a lot of people to go in them, but I’ve never really wanted to,’ she said.

‘I’m a bit of a home bird – being away for quite a long time from the family would be hard. I was asked a while ago in an interview if I’d ever do any celebrity shows.

‘It’s not that I said I would do one, it was just which one I would choose if I had to. It would be I’m A Celebrity. But I’d probably never do a show.’

Other rumoured famous faces set to appear as campmates include Tommy Fury, Tulisa, Zara McDermott and Phillip Schofield.

Metro has contacted representatives for Coleen Rooney for comment.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! returns to ITV later this year.
