Popular form of exercise each day can help blokes remain ready for romping
JOGGING can help blokes remain ready for romping in the bedroom, scientists have revealed.
Taking 20 minutes of exercise every day can reduce the risk of going slack in the sack, experts found.
Working out boosts males’ mojo by cutting stress and anxiety and preventing diseases that can block blood flow to the todger.
Experts arrived at the findings by studying 2,509 American men with an average age of 43.
About half of over-40s suffer erectile dysfunction, the problem increasing with age.
They discovered that those who did 150 minutes of moderate exercise a week were 22 per cent less likely to suffer.
It can include jogging, hiking, cycling, dancing, tennis and even gardening.
Active blokes who managed 300 minutes or more had a 39 per cent lower risk.
Study author Dr Ruihua An, from Harbin Medical University in China, said being overweight, having high blood pressure or cholesterol, heart disease or diabetes were no bar to benefitting in bed from exercise.
Smoking was the only risk factor to undo gains.
He said: “Doctors are always looking for safe methods for treating erectile dysfunction and regular physical activity is a low-cost option that can reduce the severity.
“Inflammation, chronic kidney disease, and high blood pressure may damage the blood vessel lining and are potential risk factors for erectile dysfunction.
“Furthermore, physical activity can impact hormone levels such as testosterone, which can strengthen blood vessel function and positive body image and decrease stress and anxiety.”
The findings will be a wake-up call for many British blokes as one in five in their 40s and 50s do no exercise — rising to a third of over 65s.
NHS experts say everyone should aim for at least 150 minutes a week — just under 22 minutes per day.
