Sheppy’s Cider Farm ranked as ‘one of the best’ farm shops in the country
Looking at Sheppy’s Cider Farm, a spokesperson from The Sunday Times said: “The Sheppy family have grown, pressed and fermented apples here for more than 200 years.
“Today the old pressing room is a cavern filled with local food, with a deli, a cheesemonger, a café and a restaurant, as well as a cider shop.
“Barrels hint at the room’s former life, but shelves now heave with chutneys, lemonades, eggs, chocolates, crackers and more.
“Take a tour (Saturdays only, booking advised) for a glimpse of the 90-acre orchards, culminating in a tasting session, or enjoy a Sunday roast in the restaurant.
Sheppy’s Cider Farm is based on a 370-acre site with orchards, a museum of rural life, a tearoom, a farm shop and a Longhorn herd.
The cider farm is open every day – 9am-5pm.
Another Somerset farm shop recognised in the top 35 farm shops in the country is Newton Farm Shop.
Located in the village of Newton St Loe near Bath, the farm’s cattle, sheep and pigs provide meat for the butcher’s counter, alongside chicken and poultry.
You can find the farm shop at Newton Farm Shop, Bath, Somerset.
Speaking about their recognition, a spokesperson from Sheppy’s Cider Farm said: “We’re incredibly proud to be named by The Times and The Sunday Times as one of the best Farm Shops in the country!
