In The Great British Bake Off on Tuesday night, Alison Hammond shocked viewers as she tumbled from a countertop after trying to dance for the bakers in the tent.

The baking show host, 49, caused a little bit of chaos on Tuesday night as she managed to take quite a tumble.

During the technical challenge, which saw the bakers make a banoffee pie as part of the 70s-themed week, Alison attempted to provide a little light entertainment for the bakers.

Sitting on top of an empty worktop, Alison lifted her legs and tried to roll off the counter.

Unfortunately, she lost her balance when her hand slipped and accidentally threw herself onto the floor.

Embarrassed, the presenter then lay flat on the floor with her face down and refused to face the people in the tent as she laughed at her error.

‘Catching up on #GBBO. @AlisonHammond falling off the table was ICONIC! 😂😂😂,’ said RyanTheSoapking on X.

‘Alison Hammond falling off the kitchen counter, was TV gold lol #GBBO,’ said AlexPaterson0.

‘Sat snuggled up on the sofa, crocheting and watching #GBBO and had to stop because I was laughing so hard at @AlisonHammond hitting the deck that I couldn’t see what I was doing,’ said HopefulCrochet.

Some also expressed a little concern for the baker, who did take quite a topple.

‘@AlisonHammond did you really hurt yourself …. It looked so sore and you looked rather uncomfortable after. I hope you okay,’ said Sensespeaking on X.

Alison has delighted fans since joining Bake Off in 2023 and fans have loved her cheeky jokes and innuendos.

Just last week the host left fans shocked as she made a ‘filthy’ spotted dick joke.

At one point, a giggling Alison told the contestants: ‘You have two and a half hours in order to get your dick ready.’

As they were all left in hysterics, Noel laughed: ‘Come on now kids, it’s a family show.’

Sumayah later commented: ‘I’m crying over spotted dick,’ to which fellow contestant Gill replied: ‘Never, ever cry over dick, ever.’

The Great British Bake Off continues every Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
